What do I need?
A Mac running macOS 15 or later. Syncom can use any calendar the Mac's Calendar app can see: Exchange, Outlook, iCloud, Google, CalDAV and On My Mac.
How do I set up a sync?
First add your accounts to your Mac, in System Settings › Internet Accounts. Then, from Syncom in the menu bar, add a sync: pick the calendar app or account, then the calendar inside it, for both sides, and choose which way events should go. Start from a preset (Full mirror, Busy blocks only, or Title & time only) and adjust from there.
Why does it ask for access to my calendars?
Syncom reads events from the calendars you pick and writes copies into another one. If you said no when macOS asked, turn Syncom on in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars. Your events aren't sent to us; see Privacy.
A calendar doesn't show up
Syncom can only use calendars the Calendar app can see. If yours isn't in Calendar, add its account in System Settings › Internet Accounts.
My copies aren't updating
- Syncom syncs while your Mac is on and you're logged in. It catches up when your Mac wakes or your network or VPN connects.
- Check the sync isn't paused, and look at its status in the menu bar.
- Use Sync Now in the menu bar to sync one sync or all of them straight away.
- If a calendar comes back empty, for example while its account is offline, Syncom skips that sync rather than deleting your copies. It carries on once the account is back.
Some events aren't copied
Check the sync's rules. It may be set to skip events marked Free or all-day events, and it skips anything tagged #nosync (or your own tag) in the title or notes.
I edited a copy and my change disappeared
In a one-way sync, copies follow the original, so edits to a copy are overwritten. In a two-way sync, only edits to full-detail copies go back to the original; busy-block and title-only copies are always one-way. A two-way sync also never changes a meeting someone else organized.
I changed the alert, but existing copies kept the old one
A new alert time applies to new copies only.
Is there an iPhone or iPad app?
No, Syncom is Mac-only. Copies reach your other devices through the calendar account they live in, such as iCloud.
How do I uninstall it?
Use the uninstall option in Syncom's Settings, which removes the app, its settings and its logs. To take a sync's copies out of your calendars first, remove the sync with its copies.
